Grapevine Stories

Calm before the storm at Cocklebarrow!

A few pics of what was a great day at the Heythrop Point to Point, loved by everyone from the tinies to the oldies!

We loved seeing so many members old and new at our picnic area we had with Oxford Ski, in the heated marquee. Lots of fun was had by all and we think the winning formula has got to have been our bull shot that was drunk by the truck load and was complimented by many as being the best bull shot they'd ever had!!

Well done to Milly Maddan who was the creator of this delicious treat along with the other delicious food on offer, and huge thanks to both her and Imo Brook who looked after us all brilliantly. It was a day of two halves. The weather was weirdly calm and we even saw some sun in the first half of the day but that wasn't to last and my goodness did that wind blow and rain come down. Packing up and getting out was fairly interesting!

Huge well done to all the team at Cocklebarrow who must have had a pretty nail-biting week not knowing if it was able to take place, but they held their nerve and gave us all a Sunday to remember (or not for those who consumed too many bull shots!)

I'm sure the poor venue's going to take a while to repair and hopefully everyone's finally managed to get the last clumps of mud out of their hair, clothing, cars, wellies and god knows what else but we all look forward to another legendary Cocklebarrow next year!
